As surprising as it may seem, the life of a rodent can be
terribly dull! One can only gnaw on cage bars for so long
without feeling a sense of futility.
What your pet needs is a play area! He can find a new
appreciation for life, and you will enjoy the quiet you get
in return as your tuckered-out rodent sleeps at night rather
than noisily sharpening his incisors! Design a fun-filled
rodent play area, and then send us a picture of your rodent
at play!

An example play area for rodents, built by Megu
This rodent jungle gym was constructed out of various-sized
dowels and craft sticks. The dowels were measured out and
then drilled and fitted into joints. The main framework and
each of the ladders were assembled in this way. The various
platforms are made out of craft stick "floorboards."
Rodents scramble up and down the ladders, chasing down other
rodents, seeds, and other goodies.
