Feelin' Frisky! Pepper's Play Contest!

Contest Runs Until:
July 15th, 2001
Let's Play!
As surprising as it may seem, the life of a rodent can be terribly dull!  One can only gnaw on cage bars for so long without feeling a sense of futility.

What your pet needs is a play area!  He can find a new appreciation for life, and you will enjoy the quiet you get in return as your tuckered-out rodent sleeps at night rather than noisily sharpening his incisors!  Design a fun-filled rodent play area, and then send us a picture of your rodent at play!

Mannis plays on Megu's Gerbil Jungle Gym
An example play area for rodents, built by Megu

This rodent jungle gym was constructed out of various-sized dowels and craft sticks.  The dowels were measured out and then drilled and fitted into joints.  The main framework and each of the ladders were assembled in this way.  The various platforms are made out of craft stick "floorboards."

Rodents scramble up and down the ladders, chasing down other rodents, seeds, and other goodies.

Rules

  1. Rodent play areas should be designed and built by you—simply buying something at the store won't win many contests, especially this one!

  2. Pictures of your play area may be in a digital (i.e. a graphical file such as JPEG or GIF) or print format.  Send us your digital contest entries at contest@nadsworth.net.  Or, if you prefer to send us a camera photo, mail it to:

  3. Points will be awarded based on creativity and how fun your play area looks.  If you feel that the benefits of your play area aren't visually apparent, feel free to send us a paragraph explaining how your rodent was entertained.

  4. The top three play area winners will receive Nadsworth t-shirts.  All contest entrants will receive Nadsworth bumper stickers.
