About Peter Brown

Instructor
Peter is a workshop instructor in novel and short-story writing at the Writer's Center, in
Bethesda, Maryland, near Washington, DC. He was a judge of the Writer's Center's 2010
Emerging Writers Fellowship Competition, and of the 2009 Undiscovered Writers Fellowship
Competition.
Writer
In 2010, his short story collection, "Sidewalk People" was a finalist in Grace Notes
Publishers' Competition. He also published the novella The Death of Rhett Butler at
www.deathofrhett.blogspot.com.
Alumnus & Professional
Mr. Brown earned a BA degree under novelist Harry Crews at the University of Florida, and a
graduate degree from Antioch University. For 23 years he has made a living at the U.S. Justice
Department in Washington, D.C.
